PAUL LARKIN
(BOARD CHAIR)
Paul Larkin serves as the Microbiology Safety Officer for the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention by providing administrative leadership in federal regulatory compliance and policy implementation. Prior to the CDC, Paul served as the Lead Forensic Scientist III for Quest Diagnostics within the Prescription Drug Monitoring Division. Paul received the Bachelors of Science in Biology at Albany State University and completed the Master of Public Health degree at Morehouse School of Medicine. In addition, Paul is an active member of Prince Hall Masonry, The Emerging 100 of Atlanta and serves as the Keeper of Records for his chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Lastly. Paul is a proud alumni of both the Lead Atlanta & United Way of Greater Atlanta VIP leadership development programs.
DETRA REID
(VICE BOARD CHAIR)
Detra is a commercial real estate advisor for T. Dallas Smith & Company. T. Dallas Smith & Company is the largest African-American owned commercial real-estate brokerage firm in the country focused exclusively on tenant and buyer representation. Detra was originally exposed to commercial real estate as an employee of BB&T where she was part of a fast-paced intensive leadership development program. Upon completion she served as a commercial loan workout manger specializing in high-risk commercial assets including portfolio due diligence, contract negotiations, loan modification, and financial analysis, loan underwriting and reviewing commercial property appraisal/environment reports.
CRYSTAL LAZARUS
Crystal Lazarus is a seasoned Finance leader dedicated to providing sound fiscal management and outstanding financial stewardship. She serves as the Controller for Healthmpowers, a nonprofit, promoting healthy habits to build a better future for all children. She has an extensive career working in various financial leadership capacities at Georgia EMA/ Homeland Security, Atlanta Regional Commission, Emory University, and Union City Government. Crystal has managed hundreds of millions of dollars by implementing transparency, innovation, and best practices to comply with GAAP, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and other ordinances/regulations. Her educational endeavors include a Master's degree in Government and Nonprofit Accounting from Rutgers University, a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Georgia State University, a Finance Officer Certification from the University of Georgia and other certifications. Crystal currently serves as the President of a chartered stock group and a volunteer tax preparer for the IRS. Crystal also serves as an Executive Financial Consultant for a municipality in California. Crystal was instrumental in helping her former employer earn the coveted Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting from the GFOA.
ATTANIA JEAN-FUNNY
A proud Clayton County educator with an extensive track record of community engagement. After graduating from high school with honors she received Bachelors & Masters degrees in Biology Education from Florida A&M University. In addition, she earned an Educational Leadership degree from Baruch College. During the 2018-2019 school year, she represented North Clayton High School as Teacher of the Year. Attania continues her community engagement by serving on the Clayton County Board of Appeals. She was an Executive Board Member of the Clayton County Education Association and serves as an advocate for teachers and students concerns and community outreach partnerships.
KAMARIA J. WOMACK, ESQ.
(LEGAL ADVISOR)
The founder and CEO of Law Office of Kamaria Womack, LLC based in Atlanta, Ga. Her responsibilities include drafting, editing, negotiating and reviewing contracts ranging from partnership agreements to commercial leases. Additionally, she litigates divorce, child custody and child support cases. Drafts and negotiates demand letters and settlements for civil matters such as landlord-tenant disputes. Kamaria graduated 5th in her law class in 2018 and is focused on helping young men & women from disenfranchised communities prosper.
ORE TOMORI
Ore is the Chief Financial Officer at SolAmerica Energy, a leading provider of turnkey solar energy and storage solutions, based in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to this role, Ore
served in other executive management roles: Vice President & Corporate Controller at REEF Parking, a leader in branded parking services as well as Corporate Controller at Airserv Corporation, a provider of aviation industry solutions. Ore has ten years of Public Accounting experience in the Atlanta office of the Deloitte & Touche Audit Practice where she held multiple roles including Senior Manager. Ore’s experience includes Treasury and Cash Management, managing banking and lending relationships, working with external auditors, systems implementation, process improvement, tax and financial reporting & compliance, budgeting, transactional and technical accounting, and maintaining effective internal controls. Ore holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting as well as a Masters of Professional Accountancy degree with a Financial Accounting & Reporting Specialization, both from Georgia State University. Ore is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Georgia.
