Liberty Leadership Academy is a 501(c)(3) organization proposed as two single-gender charter schools set to open in August 2023. Through a serendipitous series of events, two school leaders met in a national school design program, Freedom Fellows Institute, whose mission is to train justice-minded leaders to open high-quality schools, each with the dream to start their own single-gender school in their hometown, Atlanta.

 

From day one, the passion of both leaders to provide an innovative education option and expand preparedness beyond just school was indisputable. Everything from the approach to culture building to student-centered learning and leadership was in alignment. There was such a similarity that both schools had the same initials, LPA. After much deliberation, Liberty Preparatory Academy and Leadership Preparatory Academy married to become Liberty Leadership Academy for Young Women and Liberty Leadership Academy for Men. This one of a kind union and birth story poses an equally unique and revolutionary mission to develop the next generation of young minority male and female entrepreneurs through literacy, learning, and life skills.
